PROJECT OBJECTIVE
Ural Music Night is an international music festival held in Ekaterinburg since 2015. By tradition, it takes place on the last Friday of June. The peculiarity of the festival is that it takes place immediately at a variety of venues throughout the center of Ekaterinburg. Entrance to each of them is free.
Doubletapp has been working with Ural Music Night since 2018. In April 18th, in less than 3 months before the festival, the organizers approached us with the idea of creating a mobile application. We quickly began to work, thought through and developed native applications for two platforms (Android & IOS) based on the API of an existing site.
The application proved to be in demand and we continued to work on it in 2019. In addition to developing the application, the festival management entrusted us with a complete redesign of the old site.
RESULT
We have created a very simple and convenient application where everyone can choose the musicians he or she is interested in, see on which venues they perform, compose a «playlist» of these venues and visit them during the festival.
A year later, pre-planned routes by partners appeared in the application, as well as the opportunity to share your route and your geolocation with friends so that on the festival day you can clearly see who and on what site spends time. And what’s most important, the application works completely offline.
After the successful launch of the mobile application, we began developing a new UMN site. We redrawn all pages from scratch in accordance with the corporate identity of the festival, re-worked through the entire structure of the site and added useful features that at that time were already implemented in our mobile application. Similarly to the applications, partner routes for the lazy ones appeared on the site. In addition, we integrated a music magazine into the new site with the latest news and announcements of the city’s music events.
We also added an archive of previous festivals with attached articles and media materials and online broadcasts from the current festival for those who did not succeed in attending the event.
The local media repeatedly wrote about the application and the updated Ural Music Night website. In the App Store and Google Play Market ratings the application managed to get into the top charts for the first positions in the «entertainment» category both years on the festival day.
